15mph Scooters Are Best
Let's compare the pros and cons of some 15mph electric scooters. These models vary in price from about $200 to over $1,000, and like anything else, you get what you pay for. Here's what you get for your money with three popular models.
Teenagers and adults should choose a scooter rated for 15mph or even more. These models have powerful motors and can carry adult body weight with ease. They perform better going uphill, and they have a longer battery life, bigger tires, and are all around more durable.
15mph electric scooters cost a bit more than the smaller models. Smaller scooters like the Razor R100 and R200 have low voltage motors and are only rated for a maximum speed of 12mph. The 12mph scooters are great kid toys but they can't pull adult sized weight loads. They also have a short battery life, so they're more appropriate for playing on the sidewalk or driveway than for commuting.
TOP PICK: Super Turbo 800watt Elite 36v Electric Scooter
This scooter gives you eight times the features of the cheapest 15mph model at only twice the price. It really has the look and feel of a vehicle instead of a toy and is built for commuting.
- The 800 watt motor is rated for riders up to 350 pounds and maximum speeds up to 25mph. Even if you don’t weigh that much or want to go that fast, the extra power means the scooter doesn’t struggle up hills or strain the motor. Less strain means the motor will last longer
- The powerful 36 volt battery pack is rated for up to 18 miles before it needs recharging. This is more than enough for most commuters
- Turbo setting for high or low speed to save battery life
- Removable seat. Teenagers want to stand, while adults want to sit. This scooter lets you have it either way.
- Chain drive. This drive system is easier to adjust and repair than the sealed gearbox system found on some Razor models.
- Front and rear shocks and extra wide tires for a more comfortable ride
- Front and rear disc brakes for safety.
- Easy to fold down for transport
It’s really hard to believe that you get this many features in a scooter that costs about $500.

They're Green!
One reason electric scooters are so popular is because they use rechargeable batteries instead of gasoline. Not only do they conserve fuel, but they don’t emit pollution. They’re also nearly silent, which helps keep the peace in your household and neighborhood if you’re the parent of an active child or teenager.

Nice informative Hub. I love electric scooter's but I'm too big for one. If they make a Cadillac scooter maybe it'd be big enough then. lol
